In my experience, motherhood always changes you whether it’s baby 1 or baby 3. There’s this internal awakening, if you will. Here’s a couple of things I think might help you… 1) Pray about it. Getting input is good, but sometimes it makes things more murky. 2) Don’t confuse your brand with your offers. You’ve already built a personal brand based on your unique experience and perspective. 3) Think in terms of seasons vs. I’m making a long term decision. This is where I’m at right now because I can get stuck in analysis paralysis because I think whatever I decide it has to be the forever thing, but that isn’t true. It can just be what makes sense for this season of my life. 4) Lastly, when you’re multi-passionate and multi-talented it can be scary picking one thing because of FOMO. So one thing I’m considering is doing is taking a Jenna Kutcher approach… you are the brand, but you have a handful of rotating offers.
Currently in the same boat! And learning towards building something apart from my "personal brand" and letting my personal brand just be an outpouring of my life, not something to be monetized. So, I guess that's more #3 in the above.
Yes!! Personal branding is important - we all have one, whether we intentionally see it or not, but I don't think it's sustainable to put all your eggs in the basket of building income streams off your personal brand. It can be one income stream, sure, but for generations people built businesses without social media or personal branding, so it's a proven model. In fact, so many families built generational wealth in "boring" businesses that filled an important need, but required no personal branding.
If you do number #3 but aren't feeling the teaching aspect would you get burnt out? Or would a team help prevent this feeling? Just questions to ponder. Whatever you choose you will have success. Enjoy the ride!
Hi Erin! I found you earlier this year on YouTube, and every time I watch your content, I’m blown away by how real and powerful you are. I vote for #2, hands down. Two reasons: First, it’s clear you’re evolving, and sharing how your business is evolving with you is such a valuable and generous offer. It gives others permission to pivot, grow, and trust that their path doesn’t have to look linear. Second, you mentioned feeling hesitant or not “ready” for this option—and to me, that’s the sign. Fear often points to exactly where our soul is calling us. I’m so excited to keep following along and cheering you on in this next chapter! 🫶👏👏👏
So I'm pulled between #2 and #3. #3 feels like the most sure/straightforward path to $1M because you already have such strong expertise in this area, but I feel like marketing it might still have you in the teaching space and talking about things you already talk and teach about a lot. If you are losing joy from teaching, the agency may require more of it for marketing purposes, but I guess if you only need a handful of clients you may not have to do too much.
#2 feels most exciting based on where you said you are, but most uncertain. It seems like it could take more time and delay hitting the goal, but the long term results could lead to higher satisfaction for you. I don't want to suggest you need to choose between doing what you genuinely want and hitting your goal, bc anything is possible w/ God, but it may be fruitful to reflect on whether you'd be open to choosing an option that doesn't get the fastest results if it gets the most meaningful, sustainable results. Rooting for you and inspired by your journey! Thanks for letting us speak into it!
Do the masterclass as an annual or semi-annual big event in person and/or online.
Always do the newsletter/podcast (don't stop promoting that); that's evergreen content, aka long-term cash in hand. You can do that weekly or bi-monthly.
Start the social media marketing agency and delegate what you want to delegate. You have already established yourself as a consummate professional in that space.
Grow your personal brand (businesswoman, mommy, and wife) and have a product. Your audience/customer trusts you and whatever you promote. You are the woman behind the masterclass, marketing agency, and podcast/newsletter, delegating and managing it all. This is also evergreen content.
#2 seems like a process I wouldn’t want to rush to hit your millionaire in a year deadline. I like #1 because it seems like the one you have the most control over and it’s not starting something from scratch.
From a fellow small business owner I would suggest you put what you enjoy over profit(million dollars). You will reach your goal before you know it, enjoy working a whole lot more on your way up, and you won’t get sick and tired of what you are doing.😵💫 I love this episode.
Hey Erin! All of them are great ideas. I would consider building them around your life. I love idea of the boutique agency as it will allow you to work with a small group of clients that will allow you to do what you love.

Love the Jenna Kutcher approach!

Do all four.

My vote is #4 but I am biased because words are always my go to. They're why I got a Bachelor's of Journalism from Mizzou

I would go with number 3.

Is like number 2, 1 then 3.
